We recommend calling our office at 309-664-6868 to set up an initial consultation with our dentist. This gives you the opportunity to get to know one another, verify our dentist's qualifications and ask any questions you may have regarding the services we offer or the treatments you may need.
If everything was satisfactory during your consultation, we'll schedule your first appointment. We ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes early to this appointment so you have ample time to complete our New Patient paperwork. These forms ask for basic information, like your name, age and address, as well as more detailed information about your medical and dental health history. If you'd prefer, you can download the forms at the following link and complete them before you come in for your appointment.
After a thorough review of your dental health history, our dentist examine your teeth, gums and mouth. This comprehensive exam is essential to evaluate your oral health and look for signs of trouble. After looking for signs of tooth decay and gum disease, our dentist will perform a teeth cleaning to remove any built up plaque and tartar.
When your exam and teeth cleaning are complete, our dentist will take a series of x-rays to further examine your teeth and bone structure beneath the gumline. We use digital x-rays at Redbird Dental Care to reduce radiation exposure and provide patients with faster results. The images are displayed instantly, so our dentist can review the findings with you and outline a treatment plan if needed.
At the conclusion of your visit, our dentist will discuss any findings with you. If any cavities were found, for example, our dentist may discuss treatment options like white fillings. Once a treatment plan is in place, our staff will provide you with the total cost for the treatment and discuss payment options with you.
If additional treatments are needed, we'll schedule your follow-up visits before you leave. If the dentist did not find any problems, you won't need to be seen for another six months. We recommend scheduling your next cleaning and exam now, however, so you don't forget about it.
Our dentist recommends all patients receive a cleaning and exam at least twice per year (every six months) to maintain good oral health. Call our office at 309-664-6868 today to schedule an appointment.
